We personalized cork rollers for our Canadian Athletes who participated in summer Olympic at Rio 2016. Recently Corkit Manufacturing, Vancouver BC Canada contacted us with a very tight scheduled job. These cork rollers are approx. 6″ in diameter and 12″ tall. Because of cork material the top and bottom edges are not smooth and has a fillet roughly half an inch radius. We had to use a rotary attachment for this job. But because of the fillet edge it is very difficult to hold the roller on rotary attachment. We made a special zig which went on top of the roller, eliminating those fillet radius corners so that the roller fits on it and rotates smoothly.
To make sure nothing goes wrong, we applied masking tape on the rollers and test engraved. As shown in picture, test engraving turned out amazing. A gentleman from Corkit came down all the way from Vancouver to see this test sample. He was very happy and approved it. Finally we laser engraved all the 5 rollers each with different name. Go Canada Go.
